Inspired by Myths, Tantalised by AromasrnThe story begins 4.000 years ago with an amphora, which was used in ancient times to store precious fragrances and aromas, found inside an ancient perfume factory in Pyrgos village. The buildings & surrounding area were destroyed by an earthquake in 1850 BC but perfume bottles, mixing jugs, & stills were graciously preserved beneath the ruins. Nowadays, Pyrgos village's oldest perfume factory in the world, located next to the resort, confirms Cyprus' historical and cultural importance in the Mediterranean since prehistoric times. Our logo is inspired by the amphora, and its body is adorned with an elegant star shape borrowed from Lefkara, a small, picturesque village where the art of embroidery and lacemaking flourished in the 16th century.rnAccording to the legend, Leonardo Da Vinci, while visiting the Queen of Cyprus, brought back to Italy a Lefkaritiko lace tablecloth, which now adorns the Duomo chapel in Milan, but also inspired Harrods Interiors for ParklaneResort & Spa design.
